Ms. Carol Lynne Meehan Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Carol Lynne Menefee Meehan passed on to be with our Lord on January 19th, 2022 at the age of 83. Carol was born in 1938 to her wonderful parents, Ray and Eula Menefee. She grew up in Shaker Heights, Cleveland Ohio and graduated from Shaker Heights High School in 1956. She spent her married life of 24 years in Forest Park, a suburb of Cincinnati Ohio. She fell in love with the mountains of WNC when she was here for a visit and moved to Asheville in 1982 where she lived the rest of her life. Carol loved to hike the mountains and traveled mostly in a camper with her beloved dog, Silvie, a friend, or family member. She joyfully visited all 50 states and many foreign countries! Carol earned her Education degree at Miami University of Ohio and was a teacher for over 40 years, starting in the Forest Park, Ohio public schools, continuing in the Asheville, NC public schools and Asheville Catholic School. From the early nineties to 2013 when she retired, Carol joyfully taught adults part time for AB Tech Community College. She was loved by all, remembered to this day by her talent and won teacher of the year multiple times over the years. She is survived by wonderful friends and an amazing family that she adored including her son in Cleveland, Daniel Meehan Jr., his wife Suzie and their son Dan along with her daughters Deborah Krumrei and her husband Jim Krumrei and Cindy Meehan-Patton. She also leaves behind three nieces and two nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Don and two sisters-in-law, Suzi and Gail. Carol was a joyful person, loved and touched by so many and ever grateful to our Lord and Savior for the full and blessed life she was so privileged to receive. A Celebration of Life service and informal pizza reception will be held on Saturday March 5th at 11:00 am at New Life Community Church, 147 New Life Drive, Asheville, NC 28804.
