Mr. Jimmy R. Niles

January 4, 1932 - November 24, 2016

Jimmy R. Niles, 84, passed away Thursday, November 24, 2016. A native of Polk Co., TN, he was the son of the late William Huffman and Essie Lee Niles. Mr. Niles moved to Asheville with his family in 1972, where he was a respected pharmacist. Mr. Niles served our country during the Korean War with The United States Air Force, where he earned both the Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. In addition to his parents Mr. Niles was preceded in death by two sons, Joe and Kevin Niles; three brothers & two sisters. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Theresa L. Niles; three sons, Jimmy R. Niles Jr. and Neil S. Niles both of Mariville, TN and Donald E. Perkins of Wilmington, NC; daughter, Nancy Couch and her husband Dave of Boston, MA; sister, Sue Austin of Chattanooga, TN; eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and four special neighborhood children they considered as grandchildren. A celebration of Mr. Niles life will be held at a later date. Morris Funeral Home, 304 Merrimon Avenue is in charge of arrangements.
