Sandra Farnam Sellers

Sandra Farnam Sellers, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully at her home in Asheville after a courageous battle with ALS. She was born on May 7, 1949, and lived a life marked by deep faith, creativity, service, and love for her family and community. Sandy was married to the love of her life, Danny Sellers, for 47 devoted years. Together they built a family grounded in grace and resilience. She was preceded in death by her parents, Barbara and Ellery Farnam; her children Alexandra and Preston; her grandson Kaydon Sellers, whom she held forever in her heart. She is survived by her son, Morgan Sellers, and his wife, Jessie, their three daughters, Emerson, Mary Margaret, and Olivia, who were a constant light in her life. Sandy is also survived by her sisters, Patty Brent and her husband Terrell, and Carole Cooper. She cherished her extended family, including her nieces and nephews: Terry Brent and his wife Rachael; Kimel Brent and his wife Shellie; Christa Cauble and her husband John, and Jamie Cooper, along with her beloved great-nieces and great-nephews, all of whom brought her great happiness. A woman of deep faith, Sandy loved her church and was an active, recent member of Trinity Episcopal Church and life long member of First Presbyterian Church. Her faith in Christ guided her throughout her life and sustained her through her illness. Sandy had a lifelong love of learning, beauty, and creativity. She was a devoted member of the Vetust Study Club, where she enjoyed thoughtful discussion and deep rooted friendships. She was also an accomplished artist, an avid reader, and a passionate gardener. She was a Master Gardener and proud member of the Four Seasons Garden Club, where she dedicated 20 years of service caring for the Village Green in Biltmore Village, leaving behind a living legacy enjoyed by so many. Sandy also loved to travel, finding joy in touring Europe with her husband. She was a wonderful cook who delighted in preparing meals for family and friends, expressing her love through hospitality and entertaining. Professionally, Sandy spent 15 years working at John Simmons, where her warmth, eye for design, and kindness were well known. In her later years, she brought those same qualities to her work as a realtor, forming lasting relationships with clients and colleagues. Sandy faced ALS with incredible strength, courage, and grace, inspiring all who walked beside her during her journey. Her life was one of quiet generosity, steady devotion, and commitment A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, February 20, 2026 at Trinity Episcopal Church, 60 Church Street, Asheville, with Rev. Dr. R. Scott White and Rev. Patrick W. T. Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
