Monte Farrin Richardson

Monte Farrin Richardson died February 20, 2017 at the age of 104. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on May 2, 1912, the daughter of Paul and Florence F. Richardson. Her sister, Medora R. Jones, predeceased her in 1996. No immediate family members remain. Monte lived in Glendale, Ohio until moving to Evanston, Illinois in 1941. During World War II she served as a Red Cross volunteer. She was also an active member of the Junior League in Cincinnati and Evanston, as well as, later, in Asheville. She and her mother moved to Asheville in 1970 to join her sister, Medora, and her sister’s husband. They settled in Biltmore Forest, where Monte was a devoted golfer and member of the French Broad River Garden Club. In 1996, she moved to the Deerfield Episcopal Retirement Community. A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, February 24, 2017 at 2:00 PM at St. Giles’ Chapel at Deerfield. The Rt. Rev. Robert H. Johnson and The Rev. R. Lindsley Walton, Jr. will officiate.
